You’re wrong about Second Amendment rights
Gene Yoon

Interesting spin on the issue but you missed it. The Bill of Rights helps protect against tyranny in multiple ways:

  • The First helps protect the rights of the people to free access to information about the government via a free press. That’s your connection item.
  • The 3rd, 4th, and 5th are intended to protect private information, private property, and communication from the government. That’s your encryption and anonymity points.
  • The 2nd protects the right to armed rebellion. For you to imply that it only meant to protect small rebellions the government would still crush is ridiculous and betrays a lack of understanding about the Revolution.

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th have been under attack for decades under the guise of safety and protection from terrorism. The 1st is under attack now under the guise of “fake news.” The 2nd has been under attack since at least 1938 (the NFA). Do you reall think a tyrant will hesitate over a few carefully worded blog posts? Of course not.

There are 80 million gun owners compared to about 1 million police and a couple hundred thousand armed forces. Of course guns are still a very real deterrent.
