Online e-commerce is a giant market. Targeting the global and full-category market will require a huge investment upfront and can easily result in slow development due to the lack of concentration. ApolloBox team has a deep understanding of the growth strategies for the e-commerce marketplace and we designed our entry strategy to start at the vertical market of the gift category. Once ApolloX marketplace has achieved a small share in the gift category (such as $200 million annual sales), we will put more resources into exploring other categories. There are three major reasons why the gift category is our entry point.

- The gift category has a high gross margin. 5 to 10 times of gross margin is not uncommon in this vertical. Decentralized e-commerce can quickly show its advantage in this vertical through reducing intermediaries and lowering the final price.

- Standard advertisement is not effective for this category. People usually go shopping for gifts right before they need to give them away. Advertisement needs to run at a precise time to achieve high conversion results. Our customers are very likely to share their social data with us due to our token incentive plan. The social data gives us a big advantage to compete with other e-commerce sites.

- The gift category usually has low return and dispute rates. The decentralized dispute management mechanism is the first of its kind being used in a real world application 49 of 53 with millions of users. The nature of a low return and dispute rate can give us sufficient time to adjust and improve our design.

- The gift category has a large proportion of cross-border transactions. The trust of small and medium brands in cross-border e-commerce is a core competitive edge blockchain based e-commerce has. The ApolloX platform will quickly demonstrate its advantage of a blockchain e-commerce over a traditional e-commerce system.
