In all this despair, Lara talks to Peter and he gives the option of a fake relationship, to leave his ex-girlfriend, who is even Lara’s ex-best friend; they then make a kind of contract to make this fake relationship work, without either of them losing out. In this way, months go by with school friends, family, and everyone believing that the two are really dating.
Nothing less than expected, Gen (Peter’s ex-girlfriend and Lara’s ex-best friend) is really jealous of this relationship between the two, Peter realizes the conflict that is happening and finds himself lost in his own feelings, and Lara is just jealous too. In this whole mess of emotions, jealousy, and dating… a school ski trip appears, and there they face each other about their feelings, Lara and Peter start kissing alone in a hot tub; shortly after the trip is over, Gen confronts Lara Jean, she says that Peter spent the night in her room after they kissed, teasing Lara; she also shows Lara the rope that Peter gave her, which was Lara’s favorite.
And so Lara breaks up with Peter, Lara goes home to find her older sister has returned from college, Lara’s younger sister reveals that she was the one who sent the letters, and Lara is furious again. Everything seems worse when she sees that a video of her and Peter in the hot tub was posted on Instagram hinting that the two were in a sexual act! When the holidays are over, Lara finds out that everyone at school knows about the video, Peter insists on telling everyone that nothing happened between them; Lara confronts Gen about her posting the video, and then Gen assumes that she tried to sabotage their relationship.
Lara talks to her father about her relationships in her life, she comes to terms with Josh and they go back to being friends; she hesitates to go to Peter, despite having real feelings, however, her younger sister encourages her… Lara goes to Peter, and he declares himself to her and says he is in love, the two kiss, a kiss so full of affection and reconciliation; Everything is going great, but in the post-credits scenes John Ambrose, one of the five recipients of Lara Jean’s letters, arrives at her door with flowers in her hands.
Well, after all this plot of the first movie, are you going to tell me that you didn’t feel like going to see the second movie? Well, yes, for the thousandth time! Anyway, now that you know about the first movie, we can agree that this is the best teen romance movie! In it, we can see the development of the main character's feelings, and even a “happy ending”… but will this be maintained in the second film?
