you know, back in the early days i had a credit card on uber. then it expired, and uber stopped working. when i tried to update my card, my account was locked!

i did what any normal person would do and filed a support ticket. the response was, “oh, we can clear that right up. just send us a photocopy of both sides of your credit card and driver’s license”.

of course i said no, after another exchange, i was essentially told, “we can’t help you unless you do this. uber is very useful and there aren’t many alternatives.”

this all happened around the time the uber dude threatened to expose a journo. so i happily deleted uber.
