Can Decisive Help Grow the next 100 Buzzfeeds?

Today we opened signups for Decisive CoPilot . We’re selecting 100 companies that we think we can significantly accelerate growth in social. Here’s some background of why.

At Decisive we use data science to help brands improve the content they create. One of the companies that we often refer to is Buzzfeed. Their Decisive Score is an 84 which is 79% higher than the average score across the platform.

Buzzfeed is a marvel. They recently announced that every month the content they create garners 5 Billion views. That’s billion with a B. In under 5 years Buzzfeed has surpassed the scale of New York Times, and is closing in fast on CNN.

What’s even MORE staggering is where people engage with their content.

They make people laugh. A lot. In fact, here are the top 10 comments across the posts to their Facebook Page:

We determined that emoji use can be a predictor of sharing. In fact, we found that when 😂 is in any response to a Buzzfeed post, that post performs +22 points better than when 😢 is used.

We also found that they use square images about 25% of the time, which also drives higher performance.

How easy is it to get insights you need to fully leverage social? Turns out it’s really hard.
