DuoKey, TERA Batteries, Quantum Brand Protection and Partisia Blockchain Launch EU-Compliant Digital Battery Passport
Madrid, Spain, April 23, 2025 — At MOTORTEC Madrid today, TERA Batteries, Quantum Brand Protection (QBP), DuoKey and Partisia Blockchain unveiled their Digital Battery Passport solution designed to meet the upcoming EU Battery Regulation (2023/1542) requirements that will become mandatory in February 2027.
The new EU regulation requires comprehensive digital documentation for electric vehicle batteries, light transport batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh. This documentation must track materials, components, and lifecycle information to improve transparency, sustainability and facilitate recycling in the battery industry.
The joint solution proposed by Partisia Blockchain, Duokey and QBP addresses this regulatory challenge through a secure digital system that protects sensitive manufacturing data while providing necessary transparency. DuoKey’s advanced encryption technology secures all cryptographic keys associated with the battery passport, ensuring data remains tamper-proof throughout the battery lifecycle, while Partisia Blockchain issues and manages Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) tied to each battery, creating an immutable record that tracks ownership and enables secure management from production through recycling.

In addition, QBP’s proprietary Invisible QR-code Quantum-Tattooing technology, known as Q-Stamp™, establishes a secure link between each physical battery and its Digital Product Passport (DPP). “This innovation provides durable, physical tamper-resistant authentication throughout the battery’s entire lifecycle, including recycling and refurbishing stages,” declared Dr. Nasser Hefiana, CEO of Quantum Brand Protection.
This comprehensive approach satisfies all data requirements outlined in the EU Battery Regulation, including battery carbon footprint documentation, materials composition, performance metrics and supply chain due diligence information.
