The most devastating thing about being an adult and a working guy is the monotonous lifestyle. When people say that they started to hate their job; is not because they have found something else to do, but it’s their sedentary lifestyle which makes them feel hopeless. Everyone needs at-least one thing, an activity, a passion; along with their job or academics to make them feel alive.

There are aspects of work that gives pleasure, and they can be called a hobby.

In order to do so, the first thing to give up is trying to extract some benefits from it; if you have a plan or a benchmark before starting any hobby, then there will be chances that you end up frustrated or overwhelmed.

Here I’m suggesting those hobbies which have potential to improve your quality of life:

  1. Writing Journal: I am not saying you should start writing articles or blogs; when I’m using the word “Journal” it means something totally related to your life. Your likes, dislikes, what is so special about your life, what you regrets the most, what is that one thing you aspire for; it could be anything. Journaling will not only make you more clearer about your thoughts and emotions but will also help you to improve your writing skills; even I started my writing journey with daily journals.
  2. Playing a team sports:I assume you are very much aware about the importance and health benefits of sports; but by taking part in team sports you not only get your body active, but you also learn team work and in the long run its proven to improve your communication skills and relationships. You learn to co-operate, communicate and motivate others by taking part in team sports.
  3. Start to play an instrument: Playing any musical instrument will improve your creativity and will also make you a more interesting person. People who play any instrument are perceived as more intellectual and attractive person. Also, to learn an instrument, it requires a lot of patience and consistency; these qualities will slowly start to reflect on your lifestyle and work.
  4. Read books and newspaper to update yourself: How many times do you feel as an outsider in a middle-of group discussion just because you don’t have any idea about the latest event happening in your city. It’s because you haven’t updated yourself with those current affairs. We all have heard about those suggestions which say “read newspaper to improve your general knowledge” but actually it also benefits at a personal level; like you can find your self a better deal by shopping or auctioning ads.
  5. Join a social cause: This will not only provide you some refreshment from your work but can actually transform your whole life at a different level. There are stories when people explored their purpose in life by working with various NGOs. It’ll make you aware of what problems the world is facing right now; and will also introduce you to various different communities.

These are all those activities which can transform the quality of your life. The time you are wasting by thinking, “How boring my life is” could be actually invested to do something which can actually fill your life with various excitements and adventures.
