According to researches, Anne, the eldest daughter of Sir Thomas Boleyn and Elizabeth Boleyn, was born in 1507 and was executed by her own husband, King Henry VIII, in the Tower of London on May 19, 1539.

King Henry VIII before Anne Boleyn and his relationship with Mary Boleyn

The Spanish Princess, Catherine of Aragon, who was one of the most powerful women of the period and was said to wreak havoc with her beauty was the first victim and wife of King Henry VIII. The king was known to have many mistresses, Anne Boleyn’s sister, Mary Boleyn, was just one of them. Mary was completely in love with the King, she also carried his 2 childs and one of them was a boy. While Mary was pregnant with the king’s son, she failed to keep the king’s attention. The king was already in love with her older charming sister, Anne Boleyn but he was still with Mary after she gave birth to his son. Mary then returned to her husband. But her husband William Carey also died of the plague. Mary made her second marriage to William Stafford, a soldier. They lived a life of luxury.

Anne won the war against to her sister Mary

Mary disappointed her family. Anne was about the finish the job that Mary never managed to do. Mary was also one of the queen’s ladies-in-waiting, and for fear of disrespecting her, she would not dare to go beyond being the king’s mistress, and she would not be able to do so anyway. For Anne, she was too emotional for that. Anne Boleyn increased her family’s status in the palace and became the favorite of Boleyn family.

How did she get there?

Anne Boleyn loved to flirt, she gave hope to everyone and she would flirt with anyone but she would not be with anyone. Anne played hard to get to the king, she was an untouched girl, she also had principles about marriage and virginity. These principles enabled him to physically distance herself from the king, she played hard and hard to get. She kept King’s attention without begging to him, she never talked about his marriage with him because she manipulated him without her words, she never needed. Finally, Henry could not stand it and asked the Pope to divorce him and Catherine. He used Catherine’s inability to give him a son as an excuse. They eventually got married secretly from the palace people.

Downfall of Queen Anne Boleyn

Anne gave birth to Queen Elizabeth I, but like Catherine of Aragon, she could not give birth to a male heir to the king. Meanwhile she was having a miscarriage when he was having adulterous relationships with two of the Queen’s maids-of-honor, Madge Shelton and Jane Seymour. At the same time there were some rumors around that Queen Anne was a witch and she cast a spell to Henry (there were also a rumor that Anne Boleyn had 3 breasts which it is an evidence that she was a witch). Katherine of Aragon’s daughter, Mary I, promoted the view of Anne as a heretical seductress who had destroyed her mother and corrupted her father away from the ‘true religion’ of Roman Catholicism. It seems like these rumors deeply considered the King.

Tower of London

In the place where she had held her wedding 3 years ago, she was now being convicted and detained in a fake court full of her own enemies. Even though she tried to insist that she was innocent until the end, no one did anything and no one could anyways. Her loved ones could not believe that this would happen and they desperately waited for an amnesty until the last minute. That never happened.

On 19 May 1536, Anne was beheaded on Tower Green in London.

Her last words before she was behaded:

“Good Christian people, I have not come here to preach a sermon; I have come here to die. For according to the law and by the law I am judged to die, and therefore I will speak nothing against it. I am come hither to accuse no man, nor to speak of that whereof I am accused and condemned to die, but I pray God save the King and send him long to reign over you, for a gentler nor a more merciful prince was there never, and to me he was ever a good, a gentle, and sovereign lord. And if any person will meddle of my cause, I require them to judge the best. And thus I take my leave of the world and of you all, and I heartily desire you all to pray for me.”

Karma

Anne, caused the Spanish Princess Catherine of Aragon to be exiled away from her daughter, where she died in agony.

Jane Seymour ( one of the Henry’s mistress while he was with Anne) died of postnatal complications less than two weeks after the birth of her only child, the future King Edward VI. She was the only wife that to receive a queen’s funeral.

Anne Boleyn’s daughter I. Elizabeth, “The Virgin Queen” was on her way to get revenge of her mother. Queen Elizabeth I was the last monarch of the Tudor dynasty, which ruled England.
