My Patient a 55-year-old woman presents to me after falling in her home. She slipped in her kitchen on a wet floor. She had severe pain in her right hip. When I examined her she had bruising over her right hip and She couldn’t move her right hip in any direction. I ordered an X-ray which revealed a hip fracture and probable low bone mass.
On further questions, she mentioned she suffered premature ovarian failure and had menopause at the age of 42 years and she was scared of hormone replacement therapy and she refused her doctor for hormones.
What could have been done to prevent this fracture?
