I wish it were objective and formulaic enough to define a solution but it really isn’t. I think turning or converting people is a lost cause for sure.
Somebody needs to reflect on themselves and meditate on their own biases. Put yourself in the shoes of those different than you, listen and read to understand not to form a counter. Have humility to admit when you might be wrong and automatically assume you probably are not as correct as you think.
An open palm will fill with sand, but a closed fist will never catch any sand.
This is all really hard for the best of us. If you are in this mindset you are probably going to be receptive to the idea of intrinsic patriarchal values ingrained into society manipulating perception of gender issues and differences.
For myself I took an interest in philosophy and economics after reading Ayn Rand when I was in college. My study of Asian philosophy opened my mind to new ideas and for the first time I listened to truly understand. I began realizing that everything I thought I believed my entire life about conservative values and Republicans has been a series of lies and deceits, hidden agendas and dark motivations. Everything else set in motion over a couple years while my world view was transformed, I escaped my media echo chamber and realized I had been manipulated, and that I manipulated myself into believing in things that I desperately wanted to be true.
I hope this helps.
