Kevin Durant’s Conundrum

Great read. Glad to have you back. The KD conundrum is going to be interesting no doubt. I predict he stays one more year in OKC before truly making a decision.

Everyone knows you’re a Celtics homer, and I respect your basketball acumen as much as any writer. As a Lakers fan, I appreciate the your loyalty to your team, even with the Lakers bias that comes with it. However, the 2010 Celtics team should not have been considered a team that should have won that series. The Lakers earned that one and there was no miracle shot or crazy scenario that changed the outcome of that series. As I recall, the Celtics had a double digit lead with 8 minutes to go in the fourth quarter. The Lakers made the plays they needed to down the stretch to win, just a champions do. It’s similar the 2007 Suns team that still cries over the Stoudemire and Diaw suspension. While I totally disagree with suspension, the Suns had the lead in the final minute against the Spurs and blew it. They should have won the game anyway and gave it away. The 2010 Celtics had a double digit lead in the fourth quarter and didn’t make the plays down the stretch. The Lakers did. And don’t give me the Kendrick Perkins injury crap. There is no way the Lakers don’t win that game 6 blow out and Perkins doesn’t have the offensive game to help get your team buckets when they needed them down the stretch in game 7.

Anyway, I hope you read my rant. Glad you’re back and look forward to more of your work.
