Baby Blue

Its the liberty of not caring where you are tonight

What you are doing

Where you are going

Or what we are supposed to be jumbling

In this awkward fumbling

Phrases, broken gazes,

Concrete masks on iron faces

Let’s not pretend and let’s not lie

I can see the fire in your eyes

Despite how dim I feel within

We are but a few people

Waning and draining and gaining

Nothing from the moment I met you

It’s this weird blue

I’ve seen different shades of it

But it’s this weird blue I keep seeing

Sometimes it’s bigger, fatter

Sometimes it’s thinner

But I keep seeing it and when it stares back at me

It always feels so empty

But maybe that’s my own reflection
