Great point. Issue is the blocker approach has loopholes/dynamics that are opaque. We can avoid looking at an on-line “poster” (i.e. pop up), but not so much search results ranked by ad payments, or sponsored/bot-generated content, or the linking of all these to create subtle influence over our activities. This is kind of like evolutionary arms race between the commons and external money. The way to change the nature of that co-evolution is to place the network data/algorithms in a commons bounded/apportioned/incentivized by a token.
