Slack on LESS steroids

(TLDR: slack needs a feature to aggregate messages before sending them)

Since I started using Slack my life changed radically (well not really, but ok).

It went from a communication / messaging platform to the app I spent more than half of my day on, due to all the integrations that it provides.

One thing I noticed though, specially on group chats, it’s really hard to convey a message without being “interrupted” or replied to before you finish your own thoughts on the matter.

I see people getting annoyed by this all the time, sometimes getting them to just leave the group and ignore the whole thread because no one can get their message through.

RAGE!

So, “all of this writing for what??” you may ask… This is a feature request: make it possible for people to activate a “aggregate messages before sending” option so every time you press enter your messages are gathered together until you finally finish your explanation / answer / opinion. This would be an optional feature and would be implemented only when a message has more than X amount of words in it (let’s say 5/10?).

Have you noticed how this text has at least 5 paragraphs? That’s what I mean, people are used to separate their thoughts by pressing enter.

Funny (not at all!!) thing is, the more attention I pay to slack more stressed out I feel and more “notification-responsive” I get, instead of doing my job I keep waiting for the next message that makes me do something.

Sometimes all you have to do is press these magic keys on slack: ⌘+Q
