Not sure in what environment Umair has lived, but his description of life in America does not coincide with that of most of the people I know. They are from various economic, social and educational backgrounds and have attained various levels of economic and social success. While most have obviously suffered certain disappointments, hardships, heartaches, injuries, illnesses, anxieties and setbacks, and some acquaintances even suffered severe illness and premature death, the majority have lived relatively fulfilling lives with joyful moments outnumbering the suffering. Perhaps it is a matter of age and the difference in generations. While I’m in my mid-sixties, Umair appears to be in his 20s or early 30s. But my children are this age and would likely disagree with his description as well. Each life is different…
