Trespassers will be shot on sight
This is my first attempt at a drabble — a flash fiction piece of exactly 100 words. I wanted to practice on my own before accepting any challenge prompts.
Bill and Fred flew their drone along the ridge of the nearby mountain, looking for a secluded clearing where they could plant their crop.
“Ease it on over to the left, Bill. It looks like there might be a good spot over there.”
Bill manipulated the remote controlling the drone, and soon the small screen displayed a half-acre clearing.
“Someone’s done beat us to it,” Bill said when he noticed the even rows of vegetation growing in the clearing.
He reduced altitude.
Fred said, “Looks like a garden.”
There was a BOOM over the speaker, and the screen went blank.
