What if governments applied continuous integration?
Today’s software engineering best practices include the process of continuous testing and integration to manage tweaks to complex systems. Maybe we could have laws created along with test cases and specific invariants that must hold in simulated and tested sample environments. Before the laws are put into widespread use of course.
Governance is defined as the processes undertaken by a government to effectively maintain and create the rule of law. Like any system it must evolve. It must be measured, and tested, and it’s not clear to me if this is already something being practiced at any scale.
Continuous integration is a process by which software developers periodically (continuously throughout a period) merge their work into a single “working branch.” Bugs are found before being deployed to production.
Can we apply these techniques in meat space? What do you think?
