The Most and Least Paid Teachers in the World
Tom Ostapchuk

The most underpaid overly worked teachers in the world are the adjunct faculty that make up 80% of colleges throughout the US. We get no benefits and are expected to sign contracts that can be terminated 2 weeks before classes start leaving no alternative of getting work elsewhere. Teaching twice the number of classes that Associate and Assistant Professor we make less than half- about 25,000 per year- poverty level. And we are expected to have a minimum of a Masters and in most colleges a Doctorates and be published in our field. It is practically illegal. By the time we finish developing the course work, lesson plans, grading and in class teaching time we earn about 2.00 per hour. I wish someone would expose this terrible tragedy in our educational system.
