Cho Kyu-sung signs a 5-year contract with Denmark’s Meattwillan
Cho Kyu-seong (25), a striker of the national soccer team, has confirmed his joining of Danish professional soccer team Mittwillan.
The Meatwillan club announced on the 11th (Korean time) that it had signed a five-year contract with Cho Kyu-seong until the summer of 2028.
According to local media, Cho Kyu-sung’s transfer fee is estimated at 2.6 million pounds (approximately 4.3 billion won).
Cho Kyu-seong said on the club’s website, “I had a chance to come to Europe, but I think now is the right time. Mittwillan has been very active with me, and I am confident that I will transfer well.”
He added, “I look forward to life in Mi Twillan on and off the field.”
Cho Kyu-seong made his professional debut at FC Anyang in the K League 2 (Part 2) in 2019 and transferred to Jeonbuk Hyundai in the K League 1 (Part 1) in 2020.
His skills improved rapidly at the position of Managing Director Kim Cheon, and he drew attention last season when he became the K-League 1 top scorer (17 goals). 48 goals and 14 assists in 124 matches in the K-League.

Founded in 1999, Mittwillan is an emerging powerhouse in the Danish Superliga and has won three championships (2014–2015, 2017–2018, 2019–2020) in the regular league.
In the 2022–2023 season, it ranked 7th in the league.
In the 2020–2021 season, they went through qualifiers and playoffs before reaching the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Cho Kyu-sung said, “I received a lot of support for my good performance at the World Cup, but the World Cup is already over. I know that I have to do my best every time at the training ground and stadium, and that motivates me.”
He also emphasized, “I want to prove myself in Europe” and “I have maintained a good relationship with foreign players while playing in Korea. I know how important it is to blend into the team. I am learning English every day.”
