by coincidence, the difference between Walmart wages and a $15 minimum wage for their US workers (approximately $5 billion/year) is not that far off from the $6 billion/year that Walmart workers are subsidized via Federal supplemental nutrition assistance (SNAP, formerly known as “food stamps.”)

That doesn’t seem coincidental. That seems like a federal subsidy for Walmart. And it also confirms that a $15 minimum wage is the correct level to eliminate most of the need for that subsidy!
