If week three seemed like it was produced by director Michael Bay, week four was a silent film. While there has been some worthwhile storylines to be followed across the league, this past week was filled with lackluster matches. Three out of the four matches ended in 3–0 fashion, one of which being a forfeit. However, the highlight of the week may have very well been the upset of Jersey; Baltimore is the first team to take a map off of them in a league match this year!

The marathon continues, with contenders Jersey, Washington, and Utah setting themselves apart from the rest of the league. Keep an eye out for Buffalo however; a new makeover may very well be the final piece in their quest for the number one seed. With the league’s roster lock coming up soon, they may only be the first of several teams to make moves.

United Rogue is at the midpoint of its regular season. With only five weeks to go, team outlooks are starting to become very clear. Without further ado, these are the week five power rankings.

There are several different writers in this article. Please keep this in mind as they may have differing opinions or different styles of writing.

9. Chicago Syndicate (6 points)

Oh Chicago. When will they win their first map of the season? Playing Utah is no easy task, as shown by the 3–0 they were on the losing side of this past weekend. With a league worst team KD of 0.84, the Windy City is in grave danger of missing the playoffs.

However, is there hope for Chicago?

King: “Do you have any hope in this team to start winning games?”

BigDog: “We signed Zouwop and Zerka recently, and they will have a tough debut match against Jersey ahead of them but I would be lying to you if I said I was completely hopeless. I know how good I can be and while I played terrible against Baltimore and Buffalo week 1 and 2, I feel like I played better against Utah but still not to the best of my ability. I look forward to our game vs Jersey and I think that a upset is possible.”

King: “I want to know how you feel about the team now compared to how it was at the beginning of the season.”

BigDog: “In regards to how I feel about our team now compared to earlier, I feel good. Golden and I get on really well so we always know that there will be an open line of communication. I think Zerka and Zou will bring a lot to our team this season. Zou is one of the more solid golds in the league I feel and Zerka is a really solid silver. I think if we just play our game then we can turn our season around.”

With a new sheriff in town, captain BigDog may be the man who help turn things around in Chicago.

8. Los Angeles Griffins (9 points)

Once again at the number eight spot, Los Angeles finds themselves nearly at the bottom of the pack. After a 3–0 loss to Houston in which they could not field a full four-man team, from the outside looking in, LAG is in shambles. A team that has made an average of four transactions a week to this point in the season should be able to get a full team together for a match.

Cole, the latest addition to the roster, and ClxnkZ both played well in the 3v4 match, but it is hard to see any positives or upside to this roster heading into the most important part of the season. If LAG wants a chance in the playoffs, they need to turn it around FAST. They are a team to keep an eye on though, who knows. Maybe they are capable of some surprising upsets, but it seems very unlikely.

7. Houston Flames (18 points)

Houston is officially out of the winless club! A three map sweep against other winless team, Los Angeles, puts the team at 1–3 on the season. However, this was a bittersweet victory. The Griffins had to play Houston down a man, making it a 3v4.

The roster has taken an interesting turn. Star “Bigfuniman” has been released (per request) for recently silver, now gold player “Bitz”. Bitz has been known to be a great SnD player, and he has ties with Ezra from last season. However, there is no denying this is still a downgrade. With Buffalo, Utah, and Baltimore ahead, this may be the last series win they see for the foreseeable future.

6. Buffalo Bolts (25 points)

The Buffalo roster shakeup is now officially underway. In a flurry of roster transactions, general manager Johnny and gold player Zou have both dropped from the active roster. In place of them, is gold player Minun and silver player Waw. The upgrade here is undeniable, with Waw having the potential to be a top silver and Minun recently being a diamond, before being downgraded.

If this team can start building chemistry, they may be unstoppable. While being slept on all season (and for good reason early on), this team has the potential now to be a top three team. With Darkrai and Kiki both making several finals throughout their hall of fame worthy careers, this will be a team that can start their push for the finals now. Adding in Waw and Minun to the mix gives the star duo the much needed help they deserve. It will be interesting to see if anyone will be able to stop them for the rest of the regular season.

5. Maui Ancients (26 points)

Early in the season, Maui was viewed as some of the top contenders in this league. This week we see them come in at the fifth slot, as last week there was literally nothing to see with some unfortunate events leading to an forfeit from Maui. With a forfeit under their belt and a 3–0 loss to Jersey the week before, the once seemingly unbeatable Maui team seems to be in shambles. Let’s see how they bounce back this week against a lower seeded opponent in LAG.

4. Utah Craze (29 points)

At the number four spot, we have the Utah Craze. They easily won their week four match vs Chicago in a dominant 3–0 fashion. After a crazy week three vs Baltimore, the team felt it was in their best interest to make moves and traded Cole (Tubes) for Davey. It is an interesting move, as Davey finally secured his first win of the season, but it is always hard to judge a team when they play the worst team in the league.

The future looks solid for Utah, but with a tough run coming up the next three weeks, it will be interesting to see if the success will follow. They still have a lot to prove with this new roster, but if they can keep up their current pace of dominance, then they will be a surefire contender. It will be exciting to see how CRAZE-y Utah can make the rest of their matches.

3. Washington Rebellion (32 points)

Washington moves up a spot after a forfeit by Maui. Maui unfortunately had “scheduling complications” which ultimately led to their forfeit. However, WAR now faces an uphill battle with the recent departure of Jkatiyal, which leaves a massive hole in this team. Not many people can fill that big of a void that Kat is leaving. If anyone can rebuild this team, its Icee. With roster lock just a few days away, this team will have to make a major move quick. The question remains, can this team hold their top three ranking?

2. Baltimore Kraken (35 points)

Baltimore becomes the first team to take a map off of first place team Jersey. After an extremely impressive series out of Spade, you have to be feeling confident if you are on Baltimore. With the outstanding duo of T3X and Chelzee, this team might have the second highest ceiling. They have an extremely solid gold in Spade who is also known as the “Bocage Menace”.

They did however make a roster move recently. They dropped Hades who was argued to be one of the better silvers, for Klutchphreak. Through the great grapevines, it does appear Klutch was a very solid pick up and was preforming well in scrims. Can this team dethrone Jersey later on in playoffs?

1. Jersey Jackals (45 points)

What more can be said about the Jersey Jackals? With a league leading team KD of 1.27, the Jackals are shaping up to be one of the most dominant United Rogue teams in history. It nearly impossible to spot a weakness in their starting lineup.

The Stockton duo of Revive and Zeloxcitys are consistently top five in player rankings while also being early season MVP contenders. Vynoh is the Revive’s sub-duo, and despite not having any flashy statlines, he is always tough kill on the map. Lastly, captain BaseAce is the “dirty-work” flex on the team, who seem’s to have the best game sense and highest CoD IQ out of all the silvers. He is always making smart plays and hitting great routes, and has been popping off as of recent.

With Washington, Maui, and Baltimore all being defeated by the jackals, an easier path lays ahead. Jersey is five weeks away to being added to the exclusive undefeated club. What became of the only other two teams to achieve this feat? United Rogue Champions.

Player Rankings: Top Ten

  1. Revive: JER, 48 points (Last week: #1)
  2. Zeloxcitys: JER, 45 points (Last week: #5)
  3. Chelzee33: BAL, 30 points (Last week: #4)
  4. Ex: MAU, 24 points (Last week: #8)
  5. Kiki: BUF, 22 points (Last week: #6)
  6. T3x: BAL, 17 points (Last week: unranked)
  7. Bigfuniman: HOU, 15 points (Last week: unranked)
  8. Spade: BAL, 12 points (Last week: #10)
  9. Vynoh: JER, 12 points (Last week: unranked)
  10. Cambot42: UTA, 12 points (Last week: #7)

Just missed: Bar (MAU, 7), Aggy (MAU, 6), Evo (WAR, 6)

  • Revive remains absolutely untouchable on the map. Will anyone stop this man? A lot of people in the community believe he is hacking, per sources.
  • We have several golds on this list that many would argue should be diamonds (Spade, Cambot42, Bigfuniman).
  • Strangely, Ex jumps to four despite not being able to play last week due to Maui’s forfeit.

The Standout Player of the Week: Revive

Revive going off

We can tell you about this man being unkillable on the map and having god tier reads. One of his underrated parts is how he sets up and makes his teammates job easy. When you have someone locking down an entire lane of the map, it’s just holding pre-aims and winning your gunfights. Dropping almost a 2 KD against the #2 ranked Baltimore Kraken is a sure lock to make the Standout Player of the Week.
