My Brother is Awesome!!

My brother turned 38 today. He has been my brother my whole life and I consider myself lucky. Not everyone gets a brother like Harper and no one has experienced as much Harper as I have. Harper is pretty awesome.

Harper has always been into computers. From the time that we were programing on an apple IIe that my mom would “borrow” over the summer until he became a Big Deal on the internet, he has been my go to tech guru. Having Harper as your tech guru isn’t as amazing as you might think. Unless you wantto learn how to program.

When I wanted a website for my clown business, he sent me links to learn HTML. When I wanted to make video games, he sent me Learning Python the Hard Way. I am a very mediocre programmer thanks to Harper.

My blog (in all forms) is thanks to Harper. He set it up and encouraged me to write. And even though it was horrible in the beginning it slowly became more awesome. He pushed me to write my first book and continues to push me to write.

When I was having problems in life Harper paid for me to go to therapy, even though a lot of what the therapist helped me with was Harper and his annoying success. He was there for me when Sarah was sick and I was lost. He has listened to me cry, listened to my harebrained schemes, and laughed at me.

If you need advice, Harper will give it to you. He doesn’t always solve the problem you are dealing with but he will give you ideas. As a sounding board there is no one I would rather share ideas with.

Another great things about Harper is the wonderful people he surrounds himself with. I have never met one of Harper’s friends and thought “Wow, this guys sucks.” Except Clint*.

I have been, through Harper, connected with some pretty amazing people. People that Harper seems to know for no reason. Harper is just a knower of people and he loves connecting those people to other people. It is a magical system.

Harper is the most generous person I know. I have heard that success can change people. And success did change Harper. Success magnified all of the good that was in Harper, he is always there for friends and family in need. Harper gives without expectation.

Happy Birthday Harper. I love you.

*I was kidding about Clint.
