Central Pennsylvania Tracks Come Together to Create New Wicker Bill Rule

Central PA tracks have changed the ruling for the Wicker Bills. For those who don’t know what a Wicker Bill is, the Wicker Bill is located on the back of the wings. Wicker Bills are mainly used to improve handling and downforce. This is to help the drivers when they get into traffic and make the handling of the cars better. Anthony Macri is someone that some Central PA fans noticed who had a Wicker Bill on both wings at Lincoln Speedway a couple of weeks ago. Most teams have Wicker Bills, but his are most noticeable since they’re yellow on a black car.

Yesterday on Social Media, BAPS, Lincoln, Port Royal, and Williams Grove all posted this:

This changes a lot in Central PA. Both High Limit and World of Outlaws already had this rule in play. The High Limit rule book states that the Wicker Bill must be removable and 1 inch max. The World of Outlaw rule is similar. This rule will help the drivers adjust to the Wicker Bill rules in time for the Bob Wiekert Memorial, Gettysburg Clash, Morgan Cup, and other marquee events. Could this be a hint at more National Series races coming to Central PA? Central PA is and has always been a big 410 Sprint Car Racing area. However, it is highly unlikely the World of Outlaws will add more races in Central PA. The World of Outlaws schedule includes 3 trips to Central Pennsylvania which includes 6 WGS races, 2 Selinsgrove races, and appearances at BAPS and Lincoln. The World Racing Group has already stated they will not have Port Royal on the WoO Sprint schedule for the coming years. As for High Limit, Port Royal will host 5 races on the regular schedule and Grandview will host the Midweek Money Series. There is a great possibility we see more of High Limit in Central PA. High Limit has expressed interest in expanding their schedule and Kyle Larson seems to enjoy the majority of the tracks in Central Pennsylvania. Central PA used to rely heavily on the ASCoC and High Limit could bring some of that back. While racing at Williams Grove is highly unlikable due to the World Racing Group’s rivalry with High Limit, Lincoln Speedway, and BAPS Motor Speedway are 2 tracks that rarely seem the national circuit that hosts marquee events in Central PA.
