Great Article!
I think this would be the same path for any non-conventional programmer. Most programmers come out of school with a CIS degree in the basics and then you get to your first job and you’re simply blown away with what you see in the code base. Some panic, others dig in. I think those that dig in are the ones that follow this path.
Even those who go to conventional path of software engineering follow this path, they just have a better idea what a data structure is.
