I bet you’re all wondering what model of the Steam Deck you should buy in terms of specs and new price points for each version. Let’s take a dive into that today!

What are the specs of each version?

Each version with an * will highlight the main differences.

There are a few more differences in terms of more detailed specs like size, audio, brightness, internals, etc. but we are to highlight the main differences that people would generally care about in terms of more bang for your buck.

What is the price point for each version?

Steam Deck LCD

  • * 64GB: No longer available due to OLED version.
  • * 256GB: $399
  • * 512GB: No longer available due to OLED version.

Steam Deck OLED

What version should you buy for your price point?

If you’re like me, you usually like to wait for the first few rounds of a new system to get updates and work out the kinks, but with the Valve Steam Deck you needn’t worry.

With their new updates for the LCD version, you’re essentially getting the same updates, with a new OLED screen, faster Wi-Fi download speeds, faster MT/s RAM modules, faster refresh rate for most games that support it, better battery life, and MORE!

If you’re willing to put the money down, then I would suggest the 512GB OLED Model for $549 just for the sheer price point and upgrades that come with it, compared to the $399 LCD Steam Deck. There are ways you can upgrade your LCD 256GB Steam Deck with a 1TB SSD, however, at that point you would be better off spending the extra money for that 512GB or 1TB OLED model instead.

In conclusion, save that moolah and go for the upgraded Steam Deck OLED model. You won’t be disappointed, and you’ll be glad you did in the long run!
