You can’t avoid bad days but . . .

Sometimes the day starts badly and progresses from bad to worse — going right through lunch with something wrong that you now know you totally messed up on — and continues through the afternoon with a couple more negative emails and a cancellation from someone with news of impending surgery — and then you go out knowing that you have been called to an after meeting-meeting — and when you get there, there are not one but three bad news items to take in — one or two of which just happened.

So what to do. Breathe. Try to find in this sticky morass one redeeming feature — like blossoms suddenly appearing out of nowhere even on a busy city street.
