Downloading a route from Strava to your Garmin Edge GPS used to be a complicated multistep process. You’d need to export it to a GPX or FIT file, then import it into Garmin Connect and sync your Edge using Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express; or figure out how and where to drop the file onto the memory of the GPS via a USB cable; or just give up.

Now with the routeCourse app from dynamicWatch you can access your Strava routes right from your Edge!

When you create a route in Strava, put a Star next to it on their Routes page to mark it as a favorite.

Now when you start the routeCourse app on your Edge the new route is immediately available. Swipe-left (or click the Cloud button on a non-touchscreen model) to view your Strava imports and other routes on dynamicWatch, and tap on one to download and launch it.

It’s as simple as that!

You can also automatically import routes from MapMyRide and Ride with GPS, import routes from Garmin Connect and from GPX files, or create routes in seconds on your phone or laptop with our mobile-friendly route Planner.

routeCourse is available in the Garmin Connect IQ App Store and is compatible with the Garmin Edge 520, Edge 820/820 Explore or Edge 1000/1000 Explore cycling computer, Oregon 700/750/750t GPS and Rino 750/755t GPS/radio.

Update Aug 2017

routeCourse is now also available on the Garmin Fenix 5, 5S and 5X, and Forerunner 935 GPS watches. As on the Edge units, it’s by far the easiest way to download routes (courses) to these fast selling new watches.
