What I Know About Motherhood So Far

For me, motherhood is all about stopping of being “myself”. Once you give birth to a baby, you say goodbye to your “ego”. It is the time when you cannot sleep through the night. There will always be someone waking you up in the middle of the night. When they are babies, they wake you up for nursing. When they are toddlers, they wake you up for playing. When they are older, they wake you up because of nightmares. This continue until they are big enough to leave you alone.

Of course there are times when you feel everything is enough. That it is the time for you to please yourself. But once you have your own “me time”, you really want to get back to them. and of course there are times when your ego has come back, you scream at your children but you will eventually feel guilty and say sorry. Motherhood has conquered your ego.
