Advent Week Two = PEACE
We are in week two of Advent, which thematically reminds us that Christ is the Prince of Peace.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6, KJV).
God’s Holy Spirit, residing within the human soul, and a biblical, pure education, allows for the miracle of God-designed governance. The result is this:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control,” to which Paul adds, ”Against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22–23, NIV).
John 3:16 tells us of the first and primary Christmas Gift given to us by God:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16, NIV).
When we watch the news or look at the state of our communities, the world seems to be slipping further away from the Peace that God used Christ to pave the way for, all those years ago when He was born.
Therefore, this Christmas season, please join together in thematic prayer that the world would turn to Christ, embrace a biblical education, share the message of Christ and the Word of God with others, and, therefore, create a global movement of peace. Since Peace was, and continues to be, God’s gift to the world, our proper response is to open it, accept it, and share it with other people. What better time than this Christmas season?
One of the best ways to draw people to the Christian faith is by exhibiting personal joy (see John 10:10 and Romans 14:17). As our photo above describes, when Christ Jesus was born, when the star was placed in the dark sky as a beacon, it was God’s way of turning Heaven’s light on.
God wants to bless us.
…This is proven by Him sending Christ to die in our place. Therefore, when our minds fall into cynicism, thinking there is no hope, we need to stop asking the mind what it thinks. That is the flesh complaining — sheer dourness; not a pleasant way to view the world, self, others, or God.
Rather, we need to search our hearts and put on the mind of Christ, for our Light has come! Think on the true meaning of Christmas and Jesus coming to the earth to save and eternally secure our home in Heaven. If you and I have lost our joy, we’ve lost sight of our Saviour. This Christmastime, let us remember “joy to the world” happened when God turned the Light on. That Light will never grow dim!
A PRAYER this CHRISTMAS SEASON
Let’s continue to pray for Israel, and for America, and peace for the world. This Christmas season, let’s magnify the Lord Jesus Christ as “Prince of Peace” and thank God for this Ultimate Gift to mankind. For generations, the United States, based on biblical principles, has assisted in maintaining peace around the world and has been a beacon of light for many people wishing to start a new life in the freedom only Christianity can provide. However, America loses its effectiveness in maintaining peace when it backslides from Christianity. Therefore, we must pray in unity that the people of America (citizens and immigrants), and indeed the world, would recognize God, through His Son Jesus Christ, as the only way to Peace, and would maintain their biblical identity in today’s chaotic climate. Whatever country you are from, the U.S. needs your prayers and we also pray Christianity would grow in all nations along with peoples’ wisdom of God’s goodness and light and generosity. As Christians we are beacons of hope and peace in this generation and in the midst of conflict. The United States, and all countries, need your fervent prayers to turn back to God, Christianity, and a biblical heritage — one by one, the Lord claims us, governs us Himself, and sends us out in the world to do good and proclaim Him.
