It will be a world where people are more connected but less independent and less free. This is of great irony. Consider this: the Internet made information more accessible but nowadays, many people get their news and info from their Facebook feed, which dictates what they watch and read. The algorithm feeds you what you like and what complies with your own point-of-view. I call this information selfie. Facebook will rarely feed you content that stray away from your set tastes and opinions. A similar phenomenon will happen with payment and personal finance — people will lose control in exchange of convenience. The tremendous power of the Internet goes both ways: it empowers the individual but it also empowers the entities that seek the control and the profiting of the said individual.
