What astronomical risks did early investors in Bitcoin take? I don’t really see how having a graphics card and knowing what Bitcoin was in 2009 means that you deserve wealth.
As the original poster pointed out, the concentration of wealth in a small group of early adopters is a flaw of Bitcoin no different to any other currency. It’s not a good thing.

There are things I’ve wanted to do, but if I didn’t do them I’d be fine with that too. There are targets that would have been nice to hit, but if I didn’t hit them I wouldn’t look back and say I missed them.
