Please Don’t Let Me Waste Away
“Manufacturing share in GDP is lower in Africa today than it was in 1980s.”
Yes, you read that right. So far as manufacturing is concerned, we were far better decades ago than we are today and since manufacturing and agriculture are the drivers of the economy, you and I are pretty screwed.
Luckily, all is not lost. There are hundreds of amazing people all over this nation making phenomenal products in their homes. Sure, they’re not big enough to provide jobs for us but they will be able to one day and we need to make sure they get there.
How do we help? I know, it’s tough to help a local business when you’re young, broke, and frustrated but sometimes it’s just as simple as sharing a brand you are impressed with on facebook so someone who has the means can try it out and sing their praises. Let’s be each other’s cheerleader. If you see a young entrepreneur trying to break through, support her, if you can, buy her things, be her evangelist. You need to do these things not out of your love for her or anything but for my sake. I need her to succeed, I need her business to grow so she can employ me. Please, do not let me waste away.
