Case Study: Access Bank ATM Screen Redesign
I started this personal project after using the ATM“What can I do to improve the User Experience for Access Bank” My main goal is wanting to make Access Bank have more fingerprint feature website for all users and making sure users don’t forget their ATM Card.
Overview
Access Bank provides convenient and easy access to carry out transactions. From transferring funds to friends and family to paying bills or topping up.It makes everyday banking easier. You can make quick airtime top up on the go for your phone or any other number, Perform quick transfer on the go without logging into the app. 24–7 convenient banking at your fingertips, buy cheaper tickets conveniently, cardless withdrawals, pay utility bills conveniently.
My Goals to Accomplish for this project
I want to add fingerprint as a way to login
I want users to be able to see and know their account balance, type of account (savings or current) while making a transaction without having to go “check account balance option”.
My approach to this problem?
For every project, there are always difference design process that I would use depending on the situation and time constraint for the project.
Every project that I start, I would always do an analysis on the problem and get an understanding on what i am trying to solve and how improvement can be made for users. Then I would move onto the research phase, where I would do a market research on who are our competitors and how we can make our product better by adding additional features that our competitors don’t have. Users research are also important in the research phase as well. I would normally interview potential users/users already using the product/services. By interviewing them, would give me the UX designer a better understanding of the users and what i can help them to solve their problems without guessing what is the problem that users are having.
By drawing out a user journey and user map would be helpful, as it is important to know what users would do when using our product/service.
The Sketching Phase
Normally, I like to use pen and paper to brainstorms all the ideas gathered from my research and then come up with multiple solutions for the problem. Once I am happy with my sketches I would make a wireframe on Adobe XD or Figma on how the structure would look like.
Design Phase
If I am collaborating with other developers, designers or product managers, I would normally show them the wireframe of the product and get feedback from them and iterate them until everyone is satisfy. But for this project I am the only designer so I am happy with my wireframe and the structure that I put in place which I am going to implement in the design.
For designing, I use Adobe XD as my design tools. But I am able to use other tools

Overall
I think this is an interesting project to tackle on as there are many things I can still find to improve on but due to time constraint. I didn’t mention and do a prototype and user testing. But these two steps are also very important as having prototype and some users for testing our product we can get valuable feedback from them. We can observe how they interact with the product and also tell us what to improve on to make the product a better user experience.
