TPP: It Kind of Makes You Sick
Yesterday, the official text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) was released to the public. I’m not going to lie to you, we knew for a long time this would be a bad deal for the wellbeing of the United States and American workers, but it is even worse than we thought.
The Trans-Pacific Partnership is just the latest in a long line of disastrous trade deals. One of the more disturbing components of this deal is how it would impact our ability to inspect foreign foods and maintain high food safety standards in the United States. Not only would we be unable to adequately inspect imported food, we could be forced to get rid of our food safety rules entirely due to the threat of trade sanctions from international corporations and other countries. That is why we are launching a new, multi-part ad campaign to raise public awareness of the dangerous implications of approving the TPP.
This is just one of the many reasons we must tell Congress to reject this awful deal. TPP is a bad deal for the American people and it MUST be stopped.
We are also circulating a petition to show Congress that the citizens of this country stand firmly against trade deals that devastate working Americans while padding the pockets of major multi-national corporations.
Establishment politicians are dead-set on forcing this deal through the approval process, but they aren’t expecting one thing…the anger of the American people when they find out just how awful the TPP will be for our country. Help us raise awareness by WATCHING our ad, SIGNING our petition, then sharing them with your family and friends.
Clearly, our government hasn’t learned anything from the horrific impact that deals like NAFTA and CAFTA have had on our workers and economy. Let’s send them a loud and clear message, together.
