It is a long and hectic day for you in the college or in office, at the end of the day when you are returning home. At the corner of the street sits a bakery, tired you enters it for snacking. Since you are late, egg puffs, egg rolls or whatever the American inspired desi dishes are there, they are sold out.

Irritated you, wants to head out. But in the corner of the bakery desk, sits the Samosa.

It is blushing at you.

Even though you do not like it very much, but because your growling stomach needs a snack. You placed the order. ‘One plate Samosa’.

While you are sitting beside the window, looking at the running traffic and feeling a bit relaxed. The samosa lands on your table.

*Boom, Superhero landing*

As you take the first bite and savouring the crispy outer layer and spicy inner filling. A thought enters your mind.

“Umm, this is not as bad as I thought”

Hold on for a sec. Do you know Samosa is the favourite snack of India?

*One angry look later*

Ok ok, first complete the samosa on your plate. And now, do you know Samosa is the favourite snack of India?

Yes, it is, from North to south and East to west everyone knows Samosa.

And why do you think it is!!!!!

Because of its taste — No (Cause there are many tasty snacks available)

Because it is light — No (We all know we don’t stop at one samosa )

Because of it’s availability — Maybe (In India, you can see a village without water but not without Samosa.)

Guests arrival, ‘samosa leke aao’

Went out with friends, ‘How about chai samosa bro’

Birthday parties, small events exists. Samosa: ‘May I come in’

The chitter chatter in the bus stations and railway stations are always dominated by Samosa chants.

Maybe just maybe another reason behind the fame of samosa is the fact that it syncs perfectly with the narrow and hypocritic mindset of our people.

*Apologies, if offended or may offend*

The truth that we do not care about the inner healthier core and focuses only on the shiny outside part, lays out many inferences supporting my theory. We do not stop at that too; Usage of creamy substances to enhance the beauty, Mannnn.

Haha, I am talking about sauce and chutney.

Judging by looks!!!

Of course yeah, that is just a food item.

Well one thing when you wash your hands, wash off that mindset also then and there. It is ok to judge the food by looks but do not bring that mindset outside. Next time, when you eat a Samosa. Just sit back and think about what I have said.

*Happy Samosa Noises*
