01. Simplify complex data into action

Complex financial data into simple, meaningful, and actionable information. The solution offered to users should be predictable and it needs to offer a sense of control for the user. Too many elements can confuse or scare the user, so it’s best to avoid any technical and intimidating aspects of personal finance.

02. Progressive disclosure to reduce cognitive load

Progressive disclosure is an interaction design pattern that sequences information and actions across several screens/steps. Revealing information in small segments makes it easier for the brain to process more information.

03. Cards instead of lists

A great way to improve readability in your banking app design is to convert long lists of options to cards. It makes each option more visible, helping the user find the feature or service they’re looking for faster, thus saving time and improving usability.

04. Animation

Today, the animation is a standard app design element that will please the eye of the users and provide them with excellent UX. And the possibilities of using animation are almost limitless.

05. To allow the user to customize how they see the application

Allowing the user to choose content to view on the landing screen of the app, notification control, and other UI controls.

06. Avoid information overload

When creating a design, Designer should always understand and think of the people who are going to use it. Most fintech users can’t make sense of field-specific terms or understand the meaning of certain data. In practice, clean and simple interface that focuses on what the user is really trying to do.

07.Helpful tips and virtual assistants

A good banking app design should be intuitive and need minimum explanation. The trick seems to be doing it at the right time or giving the user the option to find out more information about a feature or element of the UI with inline tips.

08. Useful notifications

Notifications are tricky territory as users can get frustrated when bombarded with a ton of them. This is especially true when such notifications don’t help them to achieve their daily goals, or are just nice-to-knows that happen too often and start to become a nuisance.

09. Gamification and rewards

Gamification is a technique that can keep users engaged and have them access to the app for more than just getting things done. It can also help your app become more popular as users talk about it. And if your gamification feature gets multiple users interacting with each other, even better!

10. Visible and swipeable account cards

One of the main trends that we’ve been seeing that users really appreciate in modern banking app design is being able to immediately see the balances of all their accounts on the landing screen. This is because people like to check the most important information first.

11. Heuristics and trendy aesthetics

Banking app design should be a friendly, appealing UI that aims to add clarity and reduce cognitive load.
