Some things are bigger than all of us and perhaps that is where we have to talk as human beings. I don’t think it is true when a “white” person says that not all “white” people are like that it then becomes all about them. I think they are speaking for white people that have seen and know for themselves without anybody telling them that racism is wrong no matter who is on the receiving end. Some people understand from a heart and soul level that transcends race and culture. I live by do no harm, but take no nonsense. Harm is done when race, for example, is made an issue rather than the bigger picture of is it right or wrong behaviour. It is always wrong to harm others for whatver reason and our history as humans is savage. No one could argue that! There is never a reason, excuse or justification to harm another other than if they are harming you. That is a whole discussion in itself where a person has to stand in integrity and truth. I am not saying that this is an easy process but we have to start somewhere and if a white persons say not all white people, then try to find out where they are coming from. Have a conversation. Challenge them. Find out who they are and their journey, but don’t just assume because they said that they are making it all about them.
