Heeey!!!

For those of you not in the know, my name is Earyn and I am currently a graduate student at the University of Arizona. My research focuses on the diet of riparian lizards in arid environments. I want to know if they are eating emerging aquatic insects and if so how much of the lizard’s diet do they make up and what will happen to lizards as they lose this food source due to stream drying.

I have just complete a Master’s program (on the topics above) and have just began a PhD. My graduate advisor is Dr. Michael Bogan who is amazing (more on him later) and I am in the School of Natural Resources and the Environment.

I’ve decided to use Medium as the place I will keep this blog. At least until I make my own website (maybe). Why am I blogging and why should you care?

I’m blogging for myself. To keep a record and to get my thoughts out of my head and somewhere else that I can process them. In future posts I’ll recap on my trajectory in science and my first two years of grad school (personal and professional). I’ll also post about current and future adventures. I hope that my experiences can be useful to others.
