Amy, everythingeverythingeverything you said. Your publishing enterprises sound like a frustrating affair. With all that said, I adore living here in the US. I love the people in my small town, rustic and kind.
Something hopeful that I cling to is that over time, as digitized ideas flow back and forth, that the US will evolve and become a more globally/internally enlightened country. I think the people are already going there. I hope they continue to demand a better nature from our power structures.
If you are traveling to BC, then I hope you visit one of my favourite places, Slocan Lake, resting at the feet of the Valhalla Range. It’s about an hour from my hometown:
