Ain’t No Hate Allowed in These Hollers

Ron and Michael, my wife’s and my dads and grandads were both IWA (International Woodworkers). My wife’s grandad came to a horrible end in a sawmill when he “accidentally fell” across a saw. He had crossed a picket line in Vancouver two years before. After some brutal treatment there, he packed up the family and moved inland. The family always thought that it was the long arm of retaliation from the bosses. My dad told me some harsh stories about the bosses, as well. Despite all this, it was union wages that raised us both up, and even sent us to Uni. Days far gone by now.

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
