Sticky candyfloss, seagulls stealing your ice-cream and a stick of rock for good measure. It’s the Skeggy we know and love ❤️ but did you know that there’s more to our beloved coastal town than meets the eye?

Ditch the bucket and spade…

1. Seal the deal

Dedicated to looking after and returning seals to their natural home, the Natureland Seal Sanctuary is a great place to visit with the kids. Join in with feeding time or simply watch the baby seals make a splash.

The team also take care of dolphins, whales, a walrus and the occasional pelican — Natureland is the ultimate animal lover’s paradise.

Be quick to bag a bargain from Lincolnshire Co-op when you sign up:

2. Explore the Model Village

One for you and the little’uns, think tiny cottages, local shops, delicate monuments and a fancy fairground — our EMT mini team would be right at home here ;-)

Kids will be inspired by the sheer creativity while you can have a chuckle at the quirky signposts (keep your eye out for Phil McCavity’s dental surgery).

3. Catch a flick at the independent cinema

We know how shocking the British weather can be, so if it’s ‘soggy Skeggy’ when you get there, take shelter in the Tower.

This coastal cinema is small but perfectly formed. With brilliant blockbusters and indie films, it may only have 2 screens, but there’s sure to be something you fancy.

4. Relax in the glorious gardens

Venture to the Tower Gardens and enjoy the views of beautifully landscaped gardens, fabulous floral arrangements and ponds full of wildlife.

With play areas for the kids, sit back and relax with a refreshing tipple while you watch live music on the bandstand. Lush.

5. Go back in time with the Bubbles

Self-confessed car obsessive or an admirer of awesome design? Pop into the quirky Bubblecar Museum — the only public museum in the UK dedicated to micro cars.

Go back in time and discover the spiffing designs of tiny cars and mini bikes while taking snaps of the classics.

This one is slightly outside of Skegness, but well worth the trip.
