Ingo’s Tasty Diner: A SM Must-Try
I really hate to be to ‘food basic’, but you should not be allowed to leave Ingo’s Tasty Diner without eating their roasted Brussels sprouts. They come with this goat cheese dipping sauce that is fantastic…and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t usually fuck with goat cheese. They torch the top of the cheese to make it a little thick and you’ve got to work to break through to the creamy cheese below. Easily the most enjoyable sprouts I’ve ever had.
But Brussels are not the only reason Ingo’s is one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Monica. They also make fantastic cocktails (I like the Old Fashioned, but the Diego Rivera is also great), delicious green hot sauce, and the best French Dip I’ve ever had.
Looking for a can’t miss dish? The Chicken & Market Vegetable Hash is perfect. What’s so special about chicken and veggies? Not a ton…until they add a poached egg, bacon, and some delicious olives. Throw on a splash of that green hot sauce I mentioned and you are on your way to hash heaven. Here’s a little peek:
Lastly, are you a wine lover? Head to Ingo’s on Sunday or Monday and pay their wholesale prices + $5 on a variety of bottles.
Check out Ingo’s Tasty Diner during Happy Hour or on their Wholesale Wine nights and you’ll be hooked. I almost forgot! Grab a cookie on the way out the door! They’re smothered in sea salt, but still nearly perfect.
