Another great post, Zat! But this one left me totally confused. I appreciate the point you were making about caring deeply about your endeavors, but the anecdote about Steve Jobs seemed to be, in some ways, antithetical to everything else you talked about. He called his colleague and said, “So Vic, we have an urgent issue, one that I need addressed right away…” Really? Urgent? Addressed right away on a Sunday? Yes, I get passion and attention to details, and no one can argue that the contributions that Jobs made to technology in general and to Apple in particular were astonishing — but come on! A heart attack on a Sunday is urgent. A car crash on a Sunday is urgent. Urgent is not always important. A guy being in church on Sunday or spending time with his family or taking a hike or reading a book may be more important. No?
