First you tell us to drop our unique distinctions and then you tell us we should not feel guilty if we are viewed as privileged. What kind of double talk is that. This article could have been just one or two sentences from the next to last paragraph. “Before I went to prep school and then here, I felt restless and resentful; Middlesex and Stanford opened opportunities to me that changed my life.” This happened because you were challenged and the expectations placed upon you were high. It was not necessarily your place on the social ladder, particularly since you seem to have broke the barrier. The key is to raise the bar in ALL of our educational institutions, create high expectations for everyone and then understand that not everyone is meant to be something they are not. Ultimately success needs to be judged on your results and actions doing something you love to do and are good at and not on the amount of money or status you achieve, because I’m guessing there are many more lonely, a$$holes at the top, then at the bottom of the so called social chain. The only judge needs to be the person in the mirror. I’m thinking you got ripped of for your $330,000 because all they taught you to create was BS.
