Youth is something to be enjoyed by the young. It is a time when the joy of living, of being young and of learning to respect both the environment and the companionship of others. The scout movement is something that has encouraged that for many decades. It is not a place to spread hatred and sour political rhetoric.

My first thoughts, on seeing the pictures of the event, was that of the Hitler youth rallies, where young and innocent minds were poisoned against people who were considered other; other colours and creeds, different religions. It was where the young were taught to inform the authorities when a friend or relative had a different view to that of the Nazi party. Is this what America wants for its youth? If so, why did America fight against it in world War Two?
