Engage Ventures and SixThirty featured at Inside/Outside Innovation Summit
Innovators, entrepreneurs and investors in the world of startup-driven innovation are gathering at the Inside/Outside Innovation Summit, June 19–21, in Lincoln, NE.
More than thirty-five speakers will offer startups and corporate innovators practical tools and techniques for accelerating and injecting innovation into organizations. This is the first time a collection of global innovators of this caliber has gathered in the Midwest.
The Summit’s final two speakers are Thiago Olson, Managing Director, Engage Ventures / Venture Partner, Tech Square Ventures and Atul Kamra, Managing Partner of SixThirty, a global FinTech seed fund and business development program and co-founding General Partner of SixThirty CYBER.

Thiago Olson — Engage Ventures
Thiago Olson is an accomplished physicist, entrepreneur, early-stage technology investor and is the Managing Director of Engage Ventures. Thiago is also a Venture Partner at Tech Square Ventures.
Thiago has a background of branding and launching products in both consumer technology and financial Business-to-Business industries. He is a frequent speaker on payments and IoT and has regularly appeared on Bloomberg Surveillance, CNN, Fox News, and the BBC News.
Prior to Engage, Thiago served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Advanced Technology Development Center, one of the first technology incubators in the country, and was also the CEO and co-founder of Stratos Technologies, a connected hardware and mobile payment platform. Stratos raised more than $10 million in funding from investors including Hyde Park Venture Partners, Resonant Venture Partners, Toba Capital, and Western Technology Investment and was later acquired in 2015.
Thiago has also served in various roles in Venture, Think Tank and Engineering Program Management at the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Energy, where he worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratories and the Sandia National Laboratories. Thiago also worked overseas in research capacities at the Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland, and the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel.
A resident of Atlanta, Thiago holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Vanderbilt University. He also was a fellow in the National Fellowship Program in Plasma Physics and Fusion Energy Sciences at Princeton University.
Thiago came into the national spotlight as a teen for his research in plasma physics; successfully building a fusion reactor in his home in Rochester, Michigan.
Atul Kamra — SixThirty
Atul Kamra is Managing Partner of SixThirty, a global FinTech seed fund and business development program and co-founding General Partner of SixThirty CYBER. The SixThirty funds attract the most innovative FinTech and Cyber Security companies from across the globe, and work with like-minded corporate partners and mentors to accelerate their growth.
Prior to his role at SixThirty, Atul served as Senior Managing Director and head of Advice for Wells Fargo Advisors, overseeing investment research, strategy, portfolio management and advice quality, serving 15,000 financial advisors, 3.3 million client households and $1.3Tn in client assets. In previous roles, Atul was President of First Clearing, Wells Fargo’s clearing business. He joined Wells Fargo from Booz & Co, where he was a Partner and Practice Leader of Booz’s Capital Markets & Wholesale Banking business. In earlier roles with American Express Bank in India, he was a relationship manager with the Corporate Banking Group and managed the western region’s Capital Markets Group.
Active in civic and community affairs, Atul’s passion is around education, entrepreneurship and diversity. He was the architect and executive leader of Wells Fargo’s partnership with the St. Louis Public Schools, the firm’s signature community effort. He serves on the boards of Webster University, the St. Louis Public Schools Foundation, St. Louis Fashion Fund & Incubator, and Prosper Institute,. He is a member of the Greater St. Louis Financial Forum, a CEO-led industry round table, serves on the BioSTL Coalition, and is on the Board of Advisors of Olin School of Business’ CFAR at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Atul and his wife, Anjali, live in St. Louis, with their two children, Armaan and Veda. Atul grew up in Mumbai, India. He has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Bombay University, where he was awarded a National Merit Scholarship and has a license to practice as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He attended Duke University in Durham, NC, where he earned his MBA degree on a Rotary International scholarship.
Hosted by Econic and the Inside/Outside Innovation podcast team, the Inside/Outside Innovation Summit is a 3-day national conference that will bring together high-growth startups and corporate innovators to collide and engage with new startups, new technologies, new business models and new talent.
