> the majority of people support medical care, education, housing, and nutrition as rights.

Alas, these goods and services can never be “rights” because they must be produced by means of resources that are by nature scarce. “Life”, “Liberty”, “Pursuit of Happiness” can be considered rights; but medical care (provided by someone else), food (provided by someone else), clothing (provided by someone else), housing (provided by someone else), education (provided by someone else) can never — and will never — be “rights” because they are (guess what I’m about to say?) PROVIDED BY SOMEONE ELSE.

I see that the tired, old left is still playing in the Utopian playpen, hoping that goodies will drop from the sky like manna from heaven. Dream on, lefties.
