Why the Tortoise Won the Race?
Most people in the west grew up learning the story of how and why the tortoise won the race. We learned from a very young age that slow and steady wins the race.
We use this cute story as a metaphor for how we should live our lives. The story teaches us how being patient and detailed will bring is the most happiness and make us winners in the end compared to the person who rushes through life.
The story also teaches us why we should go on are own pace and not worry about what others are doing because the journey is greater than the destination or goal.
The reason why the tortoise won isn’t just because the hare got cocky and fell asleep in the middle of the race thinking it would win but because it kept going.
The true message of the fabel is that focusing on yourself and doing things at your own pace will make you a true winner at the end.
The teachings that I apply to my life from the fabel is that if I just focus on myself and enjoy the journey and not care about how long it may take me to get there because I know eventually I will as long as I don’t give up Then I will win the race.
