I like both candidates for different reasons. What disappoints me has been my experience with avid Bernie fans on Facebook.
There has been such a witch hunt mentality and dozens of juvenile memes that I’m finding myself in a position of liking the candidate and becoming overwhelmingly tired of his supporters.
Of course, this is all due to my own personal Facebook experience and the people I’m friends with. Your mileage will vary.
When I talk to my friends about this they often admit that they don’t believe the nasty things these images say, but then they keep gleefully posting them.
Sometimes the images have a point, but they’re usually at least a little bit off. Many are glad to find evidence of Evil Clinton everywhere. Facts rarely matter much.
What made me want to give up entirely on the conversation with Bernie fans was one person referring to Hillary Clinton as “it.” Doing that is a complete demonization and means that any further dialogue wasn’t likely to go anywhere.
I still like Bernie for the most part and would gladly vote for him if he’s the nominee, but I’m also going to be tuning out Bernie fans in my Facebook feed until I need to cast a vote.
