New community guidelines, a renewed focus on smaller creators, 24/7 chat support for all affiliates, new aggressive view botting measures, report button and 24/7 monitoring and a new team of dedicated staff.

With the growth that Kick has seen, it is imperative we keep up and respond to viewer requests and respond to concerns when they’re raised. I want the Kick team to listen and be constantly on the lookout for ways to improve both the user experience and creator journey.

Kick recently passed a major milestone, hitting 20 million users. That would not be possible without our engaged community. That milestone was the perfect opportunity to step back, look how far we’ve come and implement new measures designed to address issues that have been raised with us and also assure creators that we are working with their best interests at heart.

It goes without saying that we are always extremely grateful for feedback, questions and support for new features so do keep this coming!

Let’s dive into some new features on Kick:

New community guidelines

We’ve seen some online commentary around Kick’s community guidelines and want to reiterate that Kick.com is a platform where all are welcome. We want to foster freedom and for creativity to thrive, audiences to grow and livelihoods to positively change. It became apparent to our team that some new guidelines were needed to foster a more positive environment.

Derived fully from community feedback, our team have developed an all-new set of community guidelines which will ensure people still have the ability to create the best possible content, also understanding where we draw the line. There is always a fine balance to be struck and at times this can be inherently complicated and nuanced, but we strive to always try and get this right.

Renewed focus on smaller creators

Kick has, and always will be a platform built for small and medium-sized creators and one where they are empowered to reach their full potential, becoming the next big thing in the live streaming space.

Listening to feedback from such streamers is therefore a top priority for our team and we have changed the way our recommended systems work, including the processes we have for defining featured creators. We’re heavily focused on small and medium size creators we feel are producing the greatest content.

View manipulation/Bots

It is no secret that platforms like Kick can be susceptible to manipulation and bot activity. It is really important for us that viewers know the true viewership creators are getting. Misleading both fellow creators and the community is simply wrong.

Fortunately, it is becoming easier to recognise such action with the right systems in place. As such, we have deployed aggressive new processes to ensure that repeat offenders of this will have decreased visibility, meaning that the right streamers receive the right exposure.

24/7 support

Communication is at the heart of this community and is something that is now more important than ever before. Affiliates are now able to reach a member of Kick staff and receive a rapid response whenever they require.

We know that reporting content in breach of our clear guidelines is also thoroughly important. Reports are monitored 24/7 before being actioned accordingly. Our staff ensure that Kick is upholding its core values central to our mission.

Of course, the above is only made possible with another exciting new development that I am very happy to share…

New Kick staff

A growing, thriving platform like Kick necessitates new team members to come on board and help propel us forward, and I am delighted to say that we now have over 100 staff members based across our Australian and Serbian offices helping to keep this show on the road.

It is imperative to us that staff both understand the space we operate in and share our unique vision. This 100-strong team is dedicated to platform safety and remains at creator and viewer disposal.

I hope all of this week’s changes show how committed we are to the success of Kick and how our team is more impassioned than ever to keep propelling forward.

Ed.
